velvet blazer: never out of style.......

i'm of the belief that cool pieces never go out of style. yes, that's what i think. now, perhaps shapes or cuts do but that's when styling comes in. new ways to wear a piece that is cool but dated. why not? case in point this velvet blazer. i bought this for $4.99 at a salvation army about 25 years ago. i am still obsessed with it. back in the day it probably went with a full skirt with giant waist band. the color has always been good and i've worn it so many ways.
in the 90's, while in art school i wore it with combat boots, cut off levis, opaque tights, vintage rock tees (the stooges still being my favorite one) and a newsboy cap....yes, not much has changed.
today i updated it with these gorgeous silk velvet floral print joggers, chloe lace up boots, enza costa layer tank and the nancy v neck sweater
a bobble beret and the brocade fringe bag from giada forte (now on sale!)
that moment you realize your jacket is older than the photographer......hello getting older!
so keep your favorite pieces BECAUSE you will easily be able to restyle them with your new pieces so they stay current, modern and cool.
