what to wear with color block jeans ......
yes, color block denim can be scary & in most cases i think its a trend you can skip. however, when i first saw these agatha jeans from no. 6 i knew i had to have them for myself & the store. they are so cool & i've never, in decades seen a pair of color block jeans that made me so happy. but, what to wear with something that is the the star? a classic white cotton shirt is perfect.
when styling funky jeans i feel it's best to keep the top simple. the ruth white cotton shirt from amo denim is perfect. a white shirt is a need for every woman at any age because it works with everything. i am a shoe lover so no matter what the outfit i always want a cool shoe. the jamie snake print boot in this beautiful butter and black print is a great 'neutral' without being boring. the jeans have a cool fit. snug at the waist but relaxed in the hip and legs to look current. i don't suggest sizing down because then they will look like you pulled them out of your closet from 1985. you want these to be relaxed & modern.
the color combo is what makes these jeans work. the canvas and grey color combo is edgy and sophisticated but not trendy. the subtle detail of the contrast color x belt loops at center back add another thoughtful element. a pale grey fedora (because i can't not wear a hat) and silk liette embroidered bag from marian paquette. the grey silk with gold embroidery pairs perfectly with the denim colors and elevate it to a dressier look.
