april 25-28 on the road to santa fe!!
i was so excited to go to santa fe this weekend. i have never been and was so looking forward to it.
colors, sunsets, great food, the perfect margaritas, card games & a ton of laughter with loved ones.
but, who knew along the way i'd see ufo watchtowers, interesting small towns, yarn following me & laugh laugh laugh with my man.
so much fun.
*ps, next stop new orleans!!
what every car trip needs....funny how you always forget flavor only lasts 10 seconds!!
beautiful though we need some serious rain soon
if you haven't been to villa grove you MUST! it's a small town with a true hippy vibe. they serve frito pie, buffalo burgers and real fries and chile. it is a town where the sangre de cristo mountain range and the san miguel mountain range start to meet.
they sell all sorts of art, used books, baked goods, soap, whatever you can imagine AND live music on sundays.
who knew....there was a ufo watch tower on the way to santa fe. i so badly wanted to camp out as it is in the middle of nowhere but 2 gator farms close by.....is this where they would land???
we make it to santa fe and one of the first stops is casa sena
beautiful outside seating in a traditional courtyard and amazing margaritas and fresh food. delicious and a must try.
i was in santa fe to celebrate an 85th birthday & 65th wedding anniversary (they have actually been together for 70 years!!)
to be honest i have always been a skeptic about true love, love ever after, etc but
i am now a true believer.
so, this weekend was romantic, endearing and so much fun.
if you haven't played hand n foot you must. so much fun. i was a fan of texas hold em but my man and his father ruled that game. and, my beginners luck with h&f made it my new fave
walking shoes are HUGE in santa fe. and those of you who know me know i don't do comfort shoes. however, i am sorta digging these pseudo bowling style shoe in great colors and 100% leather.
the big celebration occurred at tanti luce 221 and it was incredible!
the apps, the food, the cocktails, the wine, the singing....perfection.
another must go to experience in santa fe.
